StairBiz Release Notes

Read notes for version:

Version 9.1.6 - Released on 17-Nov, 2008

Users List (New)
A User may now be marked as hidden by checking the Hide in Pulldown Lists checkbox in the Users window (Defaults, Users and Networking). This will allow you to keep them in your database for historical purposes but hide them so they may not be selected for future jobs.

CNC Strings Trenching (New)
Added a new option called Wall Side Wedge Adjust to the Trenching tab of the CNC Preferences window. You can use this to expand or reduce the size of the wedge trenching on right-hand (Wall) Strings.

There are some CNC Machines with enough backlash in their X/Y travel that the different sides can produce different results with inserting the wedges. We have other settings to aide with this, but they don't always work as intended. This setting should allow that fine tuning adjustment needed to make the fit identical on both sides.

CNC Newels Trenching (New)
Two new options have been added to the CNC Preferences window under the Newels tab.

1) Enhanced Newel Cuts
When this option is selected, the following additional trench paths will be added to newels:

+ Deeper trench paths on top and bottom treads. The depth will be enough to bring the pocket to the center of the string mortise.
+ Kite winder treads will now include a deeper pocket behind the nose to allow easier installation.
+ Kite risers will include extra pocketing behind the riser on the previous face to improve installation.

2) V-Groove Tool ID
Using this option requires selection of the Enhanced Newel Cuts described above. This will add a V-groove tool path on the previous face as a kite riser to allow the riser pocket to be mitered at an angle that more closely matches the riser.

Posting Defaults to Server (Changes)
In the Defaults - Users and Networking window under the Networking tab, three new options have been added in the Post to Server section to allow the user to decide which Default Settings will be posted to the server. They are:

+ CNC Preferences
+ My Data Definitions
+ All other Defaults

Note: It is still possible to post the CNC Preferences in the CNC Preferences window under the Advanced button, but this option now consolidates all options into one location.

Posting CNC Preferences - Log Entries (New)
When posting CNC Preferences to the server, a log entry is now created and saved with all the settings. The entry includes a time and date stamp, the User name, and SW Code. This should make it easier to track and troubleshoot issues with sharing of CNC Preferences.

In other words, users can ensure that they are running on the correct version of the preferences by observing the last log entry, which is also available under the Advanced button in the CNC Preferences window. If they are on an older version of the preferences, they can reconnect to the server and check to see that the version has been updated.

Preferences - Inventory (New)
Added a new Include Inventory Option called When Job is Created. This will cause Inventory to be active with every new job.
