Windows 7 (64 bit) patch for StairBiz 3D

If you have recently upgraded to a 64 bit version of Windows 7, you may have noticed that the 3D window in StairBiz is no longer able to render photo quality images of your stairs. This is due to an incompatibility with the rendering component we use with the new 64 bit operating system.

To fix this we have created a utility program that you can run from our website on any computers that are using a 64 bit version of Windows 7. Please follow these steps:

1. Close StairBiz if it is open
2. Click on the following link and select Run to download and run our utility program: StairBiz3DWin7Patch
3. When you see the following window, select Yes to allow the utility program to make changes to your system.
4. After the utility program has run succesfully, close the window and start StairBiz. Note that the program may be hiding behind your web browser. Minimize your browser if you don't see anything happening.
5. Create a Stair and open the 3D window
6. Click the "Photo Quality Render" button. You will notice, well, nothing!! Move to the next step
7. Minimize the StairBiz Program window
   
8. There will be a POV-Ray window open behind StairBiz. Simply click "OK" in this window.
   
   This is a once only thing. From here on, this POV-Ray window will never display again and the 3D will function normally.
